Education

Admitted to practice before the Supreme Court, ordinary magistrate from 1996 to 2019. He has been teaching Private Law since 2000 and is currently Professor of Private Law at the University of Chieti-Pescara. His scientific and institutional activity is noteworthy.

He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the School for the Judiciary and of the Commission for the drafting of proposals for interventions on the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Laws brought forth by the Ministry of Justice. He is the director of numerous series and legal journals.

Law Degree with honors at the University of Bologna in 1989.

Admitted to the Rome Bar and registered to practice law since 2020.

Activities

In the years 2007-2010 he was a member of the scientific committee of the CSM, of which he coordinated the civil sector in the year 2010. In 2011 he won the first competition for Counsellor of the Supreme Court reserved to magistrates who had passed their second or third professional evaluation, pursuant to Art. 12, par. 14, Legislative Decree No. 160/2006.

Since that year, he has served as a Counsellor of the Supreme Court, first in the 2nd criminal section, then in the 3rd civil section.  He was a member of the SSM teaching structure at the Supreme Court for the civil sector from 2013 to 2016.

In 2016 he stepped down in order to undertake the functions of member of the Commission to guarantee statutes and for the transparency and control of the statements of the political parties (Commissione di garanzia degli statuti e per la trasparenza e il controllo dei rendiconti dei partiti politici) after being elected by the first President of the Supreme Court. He was a member of technical committees and working groups at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and at the Ministry of Economic Development on commercial legislation.

He was also a member of the scientific committee of the Italian Notarial Foundation. In 2013, he obtained the qualifications needed to be a Lecturer of Private Law and Commercial Law; in 2019, he  passed the selection procedure and was granted a tenure-track position as Professor of Private Law at the University of Chieti-Pescara.

Admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court, he is head of the “Trade Union Action and Legislation” area of Coldiretti. He holds the following scientific positions:

Member of the scientific committee of the Observatory of Crime in Agriculture and the Food Chain.

Editor-in-chief of the journal  Diritto e giurisprudenza agraria, alimentare e dell’ambiente since 2019.

Co-editor-in-chief of the journal Diritto Agroalimentare since 2016.

Co-editor-in-chief of the journals  Giustizia civile e GiustiziaCivile.com since 2014. 

He edited the 5th edition of the Civil Code, the 4th edition of the Code of Civil Procedure, the Bankruptcy Code and Family Code, all belonging to the series “I Codici Commentati Giuffrè”. 

Editor of the volume “Crisi d’impresa” of the Legal Encyclopedia Enciclopedia del diritto (work in progress).

Editor of the series Pratica professionale, Crisi d’impresa (work in progress). Editor of various collections.
